Sarah and Craig.  Spending two (or three?) hours with them was one of the funnest things I’ve done all summer. Naturally, for their engagement session we romped around Seattle and hit a mix of their favorite date places, favorite places for memories, and a favorite place of mine that neither of them had been to yet.

This traffic circle in Greenlake had a little table, coffee mugs, a guest book, and a newspaper on it.  It was just some neighborhood art they stumbled across on their first date, so we HAD to go back there again.

These two LOVE photography and really understand the value of personal imagery (gold stars for you both!!!). In fact, at their first meeting with me, they brought their little photo albums to show me of their first year dating.  SO cute! I’m so excited to make some lovely images for them for volumes number 3 and 4 (or is it 5 or 6 by now???).  Their wedding will be at the picturesque and serene Hidden Meadows.

We were off to one of my favorite places, Discovery Park, while Craig wore one of his favorite shirts from one of their favorite local pubs.  It’s quiet and beautiful.  The bluff overlooks the sound, and you’d never guess it’s right in the middle of the city. Being outdoorsy type folk, I was SHOCKED they’d never been there before… in fact, they said it is one of their new favorite places. Just wait, Sarah and Craig, until you hike down to the shore and the lighthouse….you’ll fall in love all over again.

We found a private little dune-bowl down a dangerous hidden little path. It had it’s own bluff- that’s the water right behind them.

I miss summer already. Bah humbug.

Now I REALLY miss summer. We joked that we went from Seattle to Bermuda to Nebraska all in ten minutes. I love this moment!090804_0097

And the end to our happy-go-lucky sweet summery evening? Fresh blackberries right from the vine. Man, those were good. I manned the camera (it need a lot of, er, “manning….” away from the prickly bushes) while they climbed into said prickly bushes.  Such troopers, what a mouthwatering treat to the end of a wonderful shoot. I’m so glad to have met you guys! (and forever thanks to Juli and Christopher for trusting your friends to me, I can’t wait to see you guys again!)
