If you’ve been following along at all whatsover, you know that I’m a co-founder and VP of Marketing of a wonderful non-profit organization that raises money to grant wishes for metastatic breast cancer patients.  October 29th was the really big, swanky-cool party that we’ve sweated over all year. Through raffles and auctions of some really great items from some really giving Seattle businesses (we love our sponsors!!!), we raised a record-breaking amount. Okay, we’ve only had 2 events as Get Hitched, Give Hope was founded only a couple of years ago, but still, this year beat last year and we’re sooo excited to share the good news!!

2009 recap

The Arctic Club Hotel proved to be the perfect backdrop yet again. Brides and grooms shopped and got some GREAT deals on things for their wedding.

Seattle’s most philanthropic wedding vendors auctioned off diamond rings, wedding gowns, photography packages, floral packages, planning packages, parties, honeymoons, cake, and more. The swag bags were filled to the brim, the cupcakes were delicious, and the bar was stocked with Madhousewife Wine. Flipped-Out Productions was the hit of the party with the flip books they made ON THE SPOT, and fake mustaches were circulating in the crowd (we love you Brittany!!!)

And now for a lil’ slideshow of some of the fun, images courtesy Jeff La Plante Photography!

But most importantly, we were able to raise a whopping $37,000 to grant final wishes for stage 4 breast cancer patients. One word: A-maz-ing.

Since the birth of the organization, we’ve raised $67,000 to grant final wishes for those where a cure won’t come soon enough.
