From the start I knew we’d have loads of fun doing absolutely nothing.

Zach and Erika are super down to earth folks, and split their time between Seattle and Salt Lake City. They looove the outdoors, so I knew that Discovery would be a new awesome place for them to explore (they’re kinda new in town). It’s got miles and miles of trails that weave over the bluff, through the woods, and down to the shore where a lighthouse lives. Perfect for picnics among spit bugs and earthworms (yes, there were lots of them!).

I just love seeing two people so in love (oh boy, here we go. gushy wushy baby waby). They just couldn’t stop smiling and playing, and it made them so so fun to photograph. And I love her unique engagement ring- very modern and slick.

Congrats you guys. I’m super excited for your wedding in Ballard in just 1 month!!!!! (and thank you for co-modeling for my review on the Nikon 35mm f1.4!

Ian is so proud of Tacoma. He absolutely loves it there. And now, so does Stephanie. And I kinda do too, especially because it only cost me 79 cents to park downtown. SEVENTY NINE CENTS. What is this, 1962?

The bridge above the Tacoma Glass Museum is rich with fun spots and textures, and it’s totally within walking distance of their really awesome warehouse-turn-swanky-abode home.Sassy + Sexy = Ianaphie. (good thing no one pays me to write for a living. yikes!)

A little Chihuly.I’ve realized I want to be like them when I grow up. Not only do they have the coolest apartment RIGHT downtown, but they also used to follow this print artist (the black and white Tacoma print above). It would be known that they’d release the location of where prints would be in the middle of the night, in random places in the city, and there’d be a mad dash of random people driving through Tacoma at like 2am, just to find these super valuable and unique prints. Seriously…. I want in on some of that action! (hey Ian, what’s the guy’s name again???). Super excited to see you guys all dolled up for your wedding in Walla Walla this September!!

(um, how should that marketing slogan now read … Walla Walla Wine Wine Weddin’ Weddin’!!)

I was so excited for Ashley and Chad’s trip back to Seattle for their engagement shoot! We had planned and schemed via email, from Seattle to New York, and in the end threw all of our plans out the window for a fun little boat ride across Lake Union, right in the heart of Seattle. Ashley in her cute Anthropologie dress and Chad in the most cliche boating outfit he could gather up (yay Chad!), we were off for a little tour. I think it was three. A three hour tour, in fact…. (are you singing it with me?) I ADORE this series.

As we were joking, laughing, splashing, and sniffling (because it was a little chilly), Chad navigated us through the lake’s busy waters among all of the fishing boats, sailboats, and rowers in canoes.

Seattle has some amazing house boats, the most famous was in Sleepless in Seattle. It’s around the corner to the left of the Fremont Bridge (below). This is our take on American Gothic, a la dingy.

And lastly, some images for the land lubbers. A quick change of clothes for dinner, and we were able to capture just a few more cuddles and adoring sweet looks on the shores of South Lake Union.

I’m super excited to see what these two cutie pies have in store for their wedding this summer at Sodo Park. Holly-Kate Foss from Sweet Pea Events has been on board since moment one, and the design wheels are a busily turning over there! Congrats you guys, and until August!!

Lisa, Joshua, and I had a super fun time during their Spring engagement shoot here in Seattle. We started in Capitol Hill at Espresso Vivace, Seattle’s famous Italian style cafe. Mmmmm!

Sports vs. Shoes. Typical his and hers, no?

One of my favorite snuggle moments of theirs. We stole away into a really cool courtyard behind a historic building on the north side of the Hill. LOVE this little secret spot!! There was even the most beautiful huge Magnolia tree blooming- it totally looked like cherry blossoms on steroids!

Josh brought his little Leica. He loves that thing. Heck, who wouldn’t? It’s a Leica for cryin out loud.

Then we were off to Seattle’s Arboretum park to roam around the beautiful landscape. It’s lush with ponds, bridges, cherry blossoms, and moss.

After a few serious moments I kinda made them have, just because they look cute being all serious, they were back to their silly fun selves for a series of engagement pictures reminiscent of a photobooth. LOVE this.

And last, but DEFINITELY not least, the gem of the whole entire shoot. An animated gif of Lisa and Joshua doin’ the s-s-s-s-nake, while curious bystanders wondered what in the HECK we were doing. I often get chuckles and points and confused looks from passersby. Just part of the experience I guess

Congrats on your engagement, you guys! It was a SUPER DUPER pleasure hanging out with you- no doubt you’ll be having a really awesome wedding!!!!!!!!!!

On what seemed like the coldest day of the year, Jen, Ilan, Bosco, and I ventured out for some engagement pictures at the iconic Pike Place Market in Seattle.

They spend their days at Adidas in New York, so naturally, came all decked out in their favorite kicks. Makes me want a pair. BAD (Maybe I could be the first photographer sponsored by Adidas? Work on that guys, mmkay?).

Introducting Bosco, their little shih tzu. He’s the fiercest little guy you’d ever meet. Can’t you tell by his long luxurious eyelashes? Usually he sports a mohawk, but today went for the natural windblown look.

I’m so excited for their Georgetown Ballroom wedding in just 2 weeks! There are going to be so many cool things to photograph- Jen says it’s going to be all sorts of Anthropologie meets Dr. Seuss. Count me in!

Brookes and James are getting married in just under a month!! I can’t believe it was last fall that we gallivanted around Pioneer Square to meet each other, sip some coffee, and spend some time together!! I love this session- the light, the snuggles, the shoes, all of it!

An early congratulations to you both! I’ll see you in just a couple of weeks at Pravda!!!!

I was so excited when Jenny and Rex shared their concept for their Getting To Know You Shoot with me. Hot pink dress + tuxedo = modern & dramatic. To my delight, she wore a lovely pink Lanvin party dress and he donned a black and white polka dotted bow tie when we started off the day at Hotel 1000 in Seattle. This was the perfect introduction to them as a couple- what they like, how they joke, and what their style will be for their wedding this summer at the super hip boutique W Hotel in downtown Seattle!!!

And yes, it was early in the morning. And yes, those are real cocktails. It’s how we roll!

These polka dotted balloons match Rex’s super hip bow tie!!! We found the most PERFECT shiny black iron wall for a backdrop, too!

She’s so beautiful (MAN you’ve got legs, girrrl!) and he’s so handsome- I can’t wait to see what they’re going to wear on their wedding day this July!
