Learn How to Bring The Fun at My First Public Speaking Gig via Nikon at BlogHer in New York!!!!!

Pinch me, I can’t believe this is happening.

  • a. I’m actually going to New York. I’ve never been there before and am freakedly excited beyond belief (yes, I just made that word up).
  • b. Nikon is bringing me to the BlogHer ’10 conference in Manhattan, which is for women who write on the internet for a living.
  • c. I’m speaking. Publicly. About my photography and how I do it. I know I talk, A LOT. But someone is actually asking me to? It just seems so weird, doesn’t it? (wink wink)

So, the point of this post is to:

  • a. let you know that you should come to the Nikon booth on Friday at 10:30am if you’ve already registered. I’ll be sharing 7 tips on “How to Bring The Fun: Working With Your Clients to Get The Dynamic Images That You Want!”
  • b. find a way to come if you HAVEN’T registered. This conference is a hot ticket!
  • c. let you know that I’ll be in New York this Sat, Sun, Mon, Tues if you want to hang out. You’ll find me. It can’t be THAT big of a city, right?

Follow my Nikon/New York shenanigans via my twitter feed at @laurelmcconnell or Facebook pages- I might actually Tweet with photos LIVE while presenting- I guess my multi-tasking skillz will be put to the ultimate test!

Leave me a comment to tell me if you’ll be there, or give me a tip on some random quirky thing that you think I should experience & see about town!!!

  • Aleah + Nick Valley - Woohoo! You’ll have so much fun! We tell everyone this: head to Pelligrino’s in Little Italy for dinner. THE best Italian food outside of Italy {actually rivals that in Italy, too}!

    Have a great time!

  • Tara Bliven - Laurel, that is so fantastic — congratulations! BlogHer is huge!

  • Katie L. Wright - I’ve never been to New York either, but my best pal lives there now and loves the Meat Packing District. I’ve seen photos, it’s pretty bizarre!

    Have a great time!

  • Stephanie Vyas - Don’t miss a wander through Grand Central Station and a trip to the oyster bar… EVEN if you don’t like oysters, you can’t beat the atmosphere, AND the food is fantastic!

If you’re up for a little adventure and music on Tues night, check out Banjo Jim’s in the LES. Unpretentious little bar the size of most folks’ living room… Terry Waldo playing on Tues – totally unforgettable!

  • Timothy Lusk - Congrats, L. That’s awesome. Enjoy the Big Apple! ;-)

  • Laura Randall - I love, love, love NYC!!! As cheesy as it sounds, take at least one of those double decker red tour buses (I think there are 3 or 4 lines…I did all of them in one trip!). It’s fun and you’ll learn and see a lot of a part of Manhattan in a short period of time. Of course you have to spend time at The Met and Times Square too! OMG, I’m so excited for you!!!

  • Rockabilly Hats - Congratulation for NYC and I just find your blog and I really like your style of redaction, it is pretty funny.
